I hope that you had a great Valentine's Day - doing exactly what you wanted to with the person/people you wanted to be with. We all know that traditionally February 14th is a day of love. But, were you aware that it's not just love for your Valentine, it is also Library Lover’s Day!
As a child, the library was one of my favorite places to be. I would love walking through the aisles, looking at the spines of the books, pulling it off the shelf and just sitting on the floor flipping through the pages trying to decided if I was going to check it out. I would check out 15-20 books at a time. There was one summer I joined a reading challenge and checked out 50 books at once! When I got older, I would find love in the written words, the adventures that I could go on, the seemingly far off places that I could travel to. I would be here in Minneapolis in my bedroom reading, but I was really in London, Paris, California, or New York. In honor of this day that just passed, I ask that you share. Share why you love libraries, share your favorite book – so that others may have the chance to take a similar journey with you. If you do not have a library card, get one. Next year, you can give the gift of the written word in all the love languages your partner can imagine. Keep reading! ~Leah
